LIPS (Low Income Phone Service) is available to every household that lives 150% of poverty. The idea is simple, there will be a $20KaD deduction from the household’s Ka-Tel bill if there is telephone services included. Therefore, if the entire bill is $50KaD, then with the discount, the bill will be $30KaD. This is designed to assure that the household will have telephone communications which is vital to have in a modern world. Service plans are located on another page.
Only one discount per address is available. Even if there were 2 households in a single home, there can only be one discount. Apartment buildings have different units, and each unit qualifies as its own household. This is to prevent abuse with the system, and therefore keep the program viable for everyone that qualifies.
