You might think of the police as a civilian force, and in most cases, that is the case. However, in Kaldus, the police is given similar training to that of the military. They will also have a similar code of conduct therefore streamlining all of the police into on national force that would always uphold, and enforce the law. For all firearms, there will be a requirement for a biometric authentication to provide the gun from being used on the police officer if taken off of them.
The police will use beefed up civilian vehicles such as a Ford Interceptor which is a Ford Explorer for the police. Similar acquisition for pickup trucks will also be made. By consolidating to a very limited number of vehicles, it will make maintenance, repairs and acquisitions much easier. All police on patrol will be provided with body armor for the best protection, and body cams will be standard as well. Unarmed suspects will not invoke the need for a firearm, and therefore a taser will be used followed by a tonfa for close quarters combat.
There will be a SWAT force which will use military style vehicles, but these are for the most extreme circumstance such as intercepting terrorists, or very violent situations which will be too dangerous for the standard police office. In this regard, all weapons for SWAT will be fully automatic weapons.
